The Trust has funded the repainting of the canopy housing the Burton Union Set and the new signs describing the exhibit have been erected. However, when it comes to the casks, the cooper from Marston’s says we should take the casks out a few at a time and transport them  to Marston’s for refurbishing.

Bearing in mind the health and safety implications as well as skills required for such an undertaking, neither Marston’s nor the Trust have the resource to do this now. The Trust is therefore investigating “Plan B” which would involve a high-pressure water wash of the entire set itself, followed by repainting of all the many metal elements.  The Trust is seeking a quote for this from the firm who have repainted the shed.
