Following the announcement by East Staffordshire Borough Council (see here for full details), the Trustees have made the following statement:
The National Brewery Heritage Trust has been in close conversation with East Staffordshire Borough Council for some time about their plans for redeveloping the former Bass offices and brewery site in High Street. Given its location, size and previous history, we feel this site would make an ideal location in which to base the story of Burton’s (and the country’s) brewing heritage, and we strongly support its redevelopment.
We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with the Council and other stakeholders to ensure that the National Brewery Collection can find a suitable home within the development so as to enable future visitors to learn more about the history, impact and importance of the brewing industry.
