Congratulations to Katherine Smart who has been elected as Master of the Brewers’ Company for 2024-25.
Katherine started her distinguished career at Bass. In the late 1980’s she joined the Bass R&D Department in Burton while she studied for her Ph.D at the University of Nottingham.
She has held corporate vice president positions at SABMiller and AB InBev where she was Global Chief Brewer. She is currently Global Technical Director and Chief Scientist at Diageo.
She has held academic positions at the Universities of Oxford Brookes, Nottingham, and currently at Cambridge. Katherine is the first woman to be appointed Master of the Worshipful Company of Brewers.
In her new role Katherine becomes our patron, and we wish her every success.
